Founded by Cindy Wu and Denny Luan in Honolulu, Hawaii, Jelly is an end-to-end scientific resource platform for research. Jelly is the second company founded by the pair, following the company Experiment, which focused on raising crowdfunding for scientific research.
Jelly is intended to be a document management platform that assists scientists and researchers for information organization and accessibility of existing research and scientific knowledge sans paywalls.
As of December 2020, Jelly was a concept and was not accessible to the general public. However, Jelly maintained an open Slack forum where potential users could discuss scientific developments and collaborate with the founders Cindy Wu and Denny Luan. The founders often spent time directly interacting with users on the Slack platform and additionally contributed to blogs to keep potential future users in the loop about company decision making and developments. Cindy Wu made several statements about there being no official timeline for launch and her goal of launching Jelly "right" in comparison to her former endeavor Experiment, which she and co-founder Denny Luan felt was significantly flawed.
