Illusion (company)

Illusion is a Japanese adult video game developer company. The company has been in operations since April 2001. It is based in Yokohama, Japan.

Illusion specializes in developing three-dimensional video games focusing on pornographic role-playing games. Illusion’s games are only available for play through Windows-operating PC, and most of its titles are restricted for Japanese distributions only. The company’s first release was Des Blood in 1997, an adult science-fiction first person shooting game about a female alien invasion and a Japanese policeman. One of its video games, RapeLay, a role-playing game where player becomes a sexual assault perpetrator against a mother and her daughter, received widespread attention after it was found sold in Amazon’s marketplace.

Since 2016, Illusion has started developing video games for non-Japanese audience, with its first title to accomplish this being VR Kanojo, a virtual reality (VR) girlfriend simulation game, where players are able to have sexual intercourse with the character. Illusion’s most recent video game launch was Koikatsu Party, released in June 2019. Koikatsu Party is a VR game where players can build and personalize their own female or male anime character and have sexual intercourse with them. Koikatsu Party became Steam’s best selling title during its month of release.
