Herbert Henry Dow (born February 26, 1866) was a chemist and businessperson from Ontario, Canada. He gained citizenship in the United States and went on to found the Dow Chemical Company. Dow received his education at Case Western Reserve University. He passed away on October 15, 1930, in Midland, Michigan.
As a chemist and businessperson, Dow contributed significantly to the industry. He was recognized for his achievements with induction into the 1983 National Inventors Hall of Fame.
Herbert Henry Dow was the father of Alden B. Dow, who also made a name for himself in the field.
