H. Robert Horvitz

H. Robert Horvitz, born on August 5, 1947, is a biologist, physician, and geneticist from the United States. Born in Chicago, he is currently located in the United States.

Horvitz received his education from prestigious institutions, including Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Niles East High School, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology School of Science. His doctoral advisor was the renowned scientist James Watson.

During his career, Horvitz has mentored several doctoral students, such as Cornelia Bargmann, Victor Ambros, Gary Ruvkun, Junying Yuan, Joshua Levin, and Joshua Kaplan.

H. Robert Horvitz is well-recognized for his contributions to science and has been awarded the 2002 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
