German chemist and receiver of the nobel prize
Fritz Haber was a chemist, physicist, engineer, and scientist born in Wrocław on December 9, 1868. He held citizenship in the German Empire and Weimar Republic. Haber was educated at ETH Zurich, Heidelberg University, Technical University of Berlin, and Humboldt University of Berlin. His doctoral advisor was Robert Bunsen, and one of his doctoral students was Hilde Levi.
Haber founded the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. His work was mainly in the field of surface chemistry. He received several awards, including the 1918 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Rumford Medal, and was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2006.
Fritz Haber passed away on January 29, 1934, in Basel.
