In 1975, the Druzhba Sports Palace was opened in Donetsk; in honor of the opening, a hockey match was organized between the teams from Moscow — Krylia Sovetov and Dynamo. In the same year, it was decided to open a hockey school in Donetsk, on the basis of the ice Palace.
1990—1992
In the 1989-90 season, young hockey players from Donetsk won the championship of Ukraine, beating peers from the Kiev "Falcon", "Ice", "Red Excavator", as well as peers from Kharkov, Zaporozhye and Dneprodzerzhinsk. In 1990, the first professional ice hockey team "Cooperator" was created in Donetsk, which competed in the championship of the Soviet Union among sports clubs fighting for the right to enter the second league of class "A". Donetsk team, which included A. Ivlev, D. Gordyushin, M. Grigoryuk, Y. Hardikov,V. Kutovoy, G. Kravchenko, put up serious resistance to teams from Moscow(Rubin, Alice), Bryansk (Wave), Rybinsk (Saturn), Zagorsk(Luch),the city of Alexandrov (Record) and the city of Uglich(Chaika).
