As a strategic partner of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Daan Gene has been at the forefront in the prevention and control of new and sudden outbreaks of infectious diseases, including SARS in 2003, hand-foot-mouth disease in 2008, influenza H1N1 in 2009, H7N9 avian influenza virus in 2013, Ebola virus in 2004, Dengue virus, MERS-CoV in 2007, and COVID-19 in 2019.
In May 2022, Daan Gene announced that its detection kit for the monkeypox virus DNA (PCR-Fluorescence Probing) had obtained CE clearance. The CE certificate allows the kit to be sold in EU countries as well as other countries that recognize the CE certificate. The kit uses real-time fluorescence PCR technology with high sensitivity and good specificity, which can quickly identify the monkeypox virus and achieve an early, rapid diagnosis of suspected infections through nucleic acid detection.
