Cometeer is a startup coffee technology and manufacturing company, based in Gloucester, Massachusetts.Cometeer was founded in 2015 by Matt Roberts, Doug Hoon, and Pat Greenhouse. Matt Roberts is the current CEO and Doug Hoon is the CTO.
Cometeer produces frozen coffee pods for home and commercial delivery. They provide specialty roasts in the form of extract capsules. Their coffee is flash frozen at -321 degrees Fahrenheit in order to preserve the aroma and quality. The packs come delivered in dry ice and are around the size of a K-cup. The consumer then pours water over the cap, hot or cold, in order to prepare coffee. The company was the first to develop and patent frozen, cryogenically preserved coffee capsules.
