CloudZero is the developer of a cloud cost intelligence platform intended to help users make informed decisions at all phases of the cloud adoption lifecycle. The company's platform offers a range of services intended to understand the operational costs at an architectural level repeatedly and in real time. It includes features such as automatic anomaly alerts, issue fixing, automated tagging assistance, and infrastructure optimization. CloudZero's approach works to give organizations a complete, accurate, and granular source of truth for the costs of their cloud infrastructure, and to help users optimize that infrastructure.
CloudZero was founded in 2016 by Matt Manger and Erik Peterson and is based in Boston. CloudZero's platform helps organizations of all sizes achieve cloud cost maturity and has been used by companies including New Relic, Rapid7, and MalwareBytes.
The CloudZero platform is a cloud management tool to help users develop cloud infrastructure and optimize that infrastructure. This includes correlating engineering activity with cost data, by pulling in and interpreting data, including billing data, from a variety of sources without the need to install an agent. The cost data is then presented in a unified dashboard, which combines the cost data with different types of business and system-level telemetry to answer the question of how much an individual product or feature costs, and its utility to the business.
Other features of the CloudZero platform include the following:
- CloudZero Cost Anomaly Detection, which works to automatically detect cost spikes and give engineering teams a feedback loop to eliminate accidental overspending, with artificial intelligence-powered anomaly alerts and real-time monitoring
- CloudZero Budgeting and Forecasting, which helps users budget their cloud usage against internal budgets for teams, products, and projects and understand where these projects may have gone or may go over budget
- CloudZero Disctoun Optimization Dashboard, which collects all cloud discounts in a single place—including reserved instances, savings plans, and spot instances—to help users stay on top of their savings
- CloudZero Dimensions, which allows users to organize their spend by custom dimensions, including customers, teams, apps, product features, or more, for better spending understanding.
