Inventor of the steam turbine
Charles Algernon Parsons (born June 13, 1854) was a British engineer who held citizenship in the United Kingdom. He was born in London and educated at St. John's College, Cambridge. Parsons was the founder of the Newcastle and District Electric Lighting Company and was known as an important figure in the field of engineering. His contributions to engineering continued until his death on February 11, 1931, in Kingston, Jamaica.
