Joint-Stock Company “Borisoglebsk Order of the Red Banner of Labor Chemical machine-building plant” is one of the largest chemical engineering enterprises in Russia manufacturing a wide range of processing equipment for oil and gas, chemical, gas refining and related industries.

The plant was founded in 1869.
Range of manufactured equipment:
Air cooled heat exchangers for operating pressure from 0,6 to
40,0 MPa;
Shell-and-tube heat exchangers;
Automated control systems;
Vessels of various materials (carbon steels, stainless steels and alloys) with inner volume from 0,9 to 200 m3;
Tube spools and valve fixtures;
3S Gas-dynamic separators.
JSC “Borkhimmash” designs, manufactures and tests its products with most up-to-date technologies and provides services on supervised installation as well as broad scope of after-sale services. The plant has modern processing equipment fleet: it is equipped with welding complexes for automatic submerged arc welding, automatic line for manufacturing fan collectors by means of rotary extraction method, extruded finned tubes production line, modern metalworking equipment.
Production facilities of JSC «Borkhimmash» occupy more than 80 000 m2.
The company is the member of International Association of Heat transfer equipment producers HTRI.
Company History
The plant launched manufacturing of heat exchangers in 1965, when «Borisoglebsk chemical machine-building plant» was founded on the basis of «Borisoglebsk railway carriage repair plant» established in 1869.
In a short time the plant mastered manufacturing of heat exchangers for chemical, oil-chemical, gas refining, cellulose-paper industries in accordance with requirements of Regulations for devices and safety of pressure vessels operation. The company started manufacturing of air cooled heat exchangers of various designs (air cooling low-flow heat exchangers, air cooling zigzag heat exchangers and other), Vessels, shell-and-tube heat exchangers, tube in tube type heat-exchangers, aftercoolers for portable compressor installations, air collectors.

In 1975 the plant first mastered manufacturing of air cooled heat exchangers for natural gas with collectors for product inlet and outlet for compressor stations of gas-main pipelines 2AVG-75, 2AVG-100 intended for gas pressure of 75 and 100 atm. including north design.
Heat exchanger 2AVG-75SV was developed on the basis of heat exchanger 2AVG-75 using materials resistant to corrosion cracking meetingspecial requirements to heat exchanger manufacturing method. Patent for invention No. 2239533 was registered in the State Register of Inventions of the Russian Federation.
In 1993 «Borkhimmash» plant started manufacturing of collector type air cooled heat exchangers for gas 1AVG-160, AVG-160R.
From 2000 to 2005 in association with design institute OJSC «VNIIneftemash» the plant mastered new range of modularized air cooled heat exchangers including heated air recirculation system, which is especially urgent for gas production companies in the Far North.
In 2008, the company developed and manufactured new modularized heat exchanger AVG-BM-135 for gas with rated pressure of 135 atm.. This heat exchanger is intended for cooling gas in processes of oil and gas complex companies. The heat exchanger features non-detachable chambers, the parts of which are welded to each other and provide higher strength and tightness.
In 2009, «Borkhimmash» developed a brand-new for the Russian manufacturers product of new generation - modularized header type air cooled heat exchanger «Iceberg», metal structures for which are manufactured using hot-dip galvanizing method. The heat exchanger is intended for operation at pressure from 5.4 to 32.0 MPa. First heat exchangers were manufactured and delivered for development of Bovanenskoe gas-condensate field facilities, Yamal Peninsula (JSC «Gazprom»).

In 2012, when designing equipment for compressor station «Russkaya», «Borkhimmash» plant engineers in association with the leading research institutes solved difficult engineering problem to reach the following parameters: gas operating pressure – 28.5 MPa; seismic resistance to magnitude of 8 points. On the basis of the biggest research institute studying the problems of materials strength under high pressure «IrkutskNIIKhimmash» test sample of the header with all air cooled heat exchangers operating under pressure passed the tests for cyclic and peak loads. The header passed tests for cyclic load (by stages of 1000 cycles) with operating pressure of 28.5 MPa and test pressure of 42.5 MPa.
Also in 2012, the company mastered the manufacturing of gas-dynamic 3S separators intended for cooling and low-temperature separation of gas mixtures components in oil and gas industries.
In 2013, the company started supplying air cooled heat exchangers completed with automated control system developed and assembled by the specialists of the new plant department – department of electrical equipment and automation.
In 2015, the companydesigned new air cooled heat exchanger with the length of heat exchanging sections of 16 meters.
In 2017 it is planned to start serial production of the first Russian air cooled heat exchanger «Iceberg-40,0» with non-detachable chamber for pressure of 400 atm. and seismic resistance up to magnitude of 9.
At present, « Borisoglebsk Order of the Red Banner of Labor Chemical Machine-building plant» is a dynamically developing Joint stock company being part of «Limonte» group of companies. Products of the plant are widely used in processes of cooling in oil and gas producing, oil and gas refining, oil-chemical and other industries. Main specialty of the plant is manufacturing equipment for cooling natural gas at booster compression stations of gas fields, compressor stations of gas-main pipelines and compressor stations of gas underground storages.

At present, equipment capability at JSC «Borkhimmash» is unique for a Russian company. It allows the plant to reside among the world leading equipment manufacturers for gas and oil-chemical industries.

Central plant laboratory is supplied with modern testing and analytical equipment, which allows performing qualitative investigations of raw materials, semi-finished and ready products. The following control methods are used in the central plant laboratory:

Use of variable-frequency drives for fans, which provides for regulating fan speed in order to provide optimal air consumption through heat exchangers and reduce energy consumption by up to 40% annually. They also ensure reduction of engine overload and starting currents.
Humidifying of the air and heat exchanging sections, which allows increase of heat removal due to decrease of air temperature.
Installation of counterflow louvers.
