BigID

BigID is a company that develops a platform for businesses to manage data protection and privacy compliance. It was established in 2016 by Dimitri Sirota and Nimrod Vax. The company is based in New York.

BigID focuses on providing software which can protect user personal information managed by companies. With each world region implementing different data protection and governance laws, BigID helps its clients ensure compliance through automatic identification of data inserted to its database. It also provides a method to categorize these inputted data, both automatically and through tagging. BigID allows the users of their software to determine who, within their company, can access what data as well. It also has a built-in risk management function for privacy and data protection, alongside a notification when a data breach occurs.

Since March 2016, BigID has managed to raise $96.1 million across four funding rounds, including a seed round which raised $2.1 million. Its most recent round was a Series C held on September 2019, amassing $50 million. Past investors include Bessemer Venture Partners, Scale Venture Partners, and ClearSky Security.
