Algorithmia is a company building a marketplace and common API for algorithms. The company was founded in 2013 and is based in Seattle.

Algorithmia offers the AI Layer as a way to operationalize machine learning life cycles. It helps models get into production and ready to scale. When a pre-trained model, function, or algorithm is git-pushed, it automatically creates a versioned, permissioned, scalable API endpoint any application or model can call. It also offers an automatic model versioning for better governance and works with hundreds of framework combinations including Tensorflow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or MXNet.

It supports multiple languages including Python, Scala, R, Java, JavaScript, and Ruby, and allows tuning ML portfolios by running models on GPUs or CPUs as required. It also allows reusing modular ML components, and optimization of performance by caching frequently used components.
