Acton Capital Partners GmbH is a private equity and venture capital firm specializing in investments in seed/start-ups; early venture; mid venture; late venture; growth equity; expansions; organic growth; consolidations; growth by acquisition; PIPEs; and bridge financing. The firm invests in: platforms, software as a service, retail, consumer-oriented businesses in e-commerce, media, and marketplace, Internet advertising, web broadcasts, and cybercasts, online entertainment, diversified telecommunication services, catalog retail, internet-enabled B2C companies, mobile, multiline retail, publishing, and Internet-based sectors.
Acton Capital Partners GmbH was founded in April 2008 by Christoph Braun, Frank Seehaus, Jan-Gisbert Schultze and Paul-Bernhard Kallen and is based in Munich, Germany, with an additional office in Berlin, Germany. Since 1999 they have invested more than EUR 350 million in more than 65 Internet-based business models, across four generations of funds. Acton invests worldwide, with a strong focus on Europe and North America.
Acton invests more than 70 percent in Europe and less than 30 percent in the rest of the world, including North America and the Middle East. The firm seeks to invest new equity capital between €1 million ($1.30 million) and €20 million ($27.41 million) in companies with an enterprise value between €5 million ($6.49 million) and €100 million ($130 million). The firm prefers to take qualified majority stakes and minority stakes in its portfolio companies. Acton has made over 70 investments and raised a total of €520M across 4 funds, one of the latest ones being Heureka Growth Fund II. This fund was announced on Oct 26, 2015, and raised a total of €170M.
