World of Warships is a computer-based, client-side MMORPG in the genre of an arcade simulation of naval battles on ships, including Arpeggio of Blue Steel, High School Fleet[1] and others, announced on August 16, 2011 by an online publisher and developer -games[2] by the Cypriot[3] company Wargaming.net[4] and released on September 17, 2015.
The game was originally released for Microsoft Windows[5], since 2016 it has been available to run on MacOS via Mac Wrapper from CodeWeavers[6].
In 2018, World of Warships Blitz[7] was released for iOS and Android, using similar mechanics and ship models, but being a separate game specifically designed for mobile devices.
In 2019, World of Warships: Legends[8] was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This game was designed from the ground up specifically for consoles[8]. In terms of gameplay, it differs from the original in terms of controls, smaller map size and number of vehicle levels, as well as other less significant details and, in general, faster game progress.
