German statistician and economist
Wilhelm Lexis was a German economist and statistician born on July 17, 1837, in Eschweiler. He held citizenship of Germany. Lexis completed his education at the University of Bonn.
During his career, Lexis specialized in economic studies as well as working as a statistician. He played an important role in teaching Ladislaus Bortkiewicz, who went on to become one of his notable doctoral students. Wilhelm Lexis passed away in Göttingen on August 24, 1914.
