Vugar Isayev was born on May 19, 1968 in Baku (Azerbaijan). He has a brother, Ilgam Isaev. In 1990 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) with a degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics. From 1990 to 1995, he studied at the graduate school of the Lebedev Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
In 1998, together with Denis Kuliyev, he founded the company "Snow Queen", positioning itself as a specialized store selling outerwear made of leather and fur, the first of which was opened in Moscow in the same year. In 2004, after diverging views with a partner on further business development plans, Vugar Isaev became the sole owner of the "Snow Queen" chain of stores, significantly expanding the range by adding a segment of casual men's and women's clothing made of textiles and knitwear of various brands. By 2007, after the format change, the "Snow Queen" began to own 23 stores in 14 cities, controlling about 10-12% of the all-Russian market and 40% of the Moscow market[2]. By 2012, the company's turnover was estimated at 16 billion rubles.
In 2006, Finance magazine estimated Vugar Isaev's fortune at 1 billion rubles and included him in the rating of Russian billionaires. In 2007, Isaev received the award "For creating a successful Russian brand, contribution to the development of the Russian economy and society". Since 2016, the entrepreneur has also been a regular speaker of the Retail Academy. In 2017, Vugar Isaev entered the list of the most influential people of Russian fashion according to SNC magazine, taking the 14th line. The entrepreneur was noted as the main fur retailer in Russia, which bypasses all competitors-furriers in terms of scale and revenue.
