Pupil of Kiev "Dynamo". Since 2012, he played in DUFLU, in which he played 85 matches in four years, scored 5 goals.He made his debut for Dynamo U-19 even before graduation from the academy, on May 29, 2016, in the match of the 30th round of the youth championship against Illichivets (3:0). This match was the last in that draw and had no tournament value, since Dynamo had already guaranteed themselves the championship by that moment.However, in the following 2016/17 season, he became a regular under-19 player, making 21 appearances (1 goal) and helping the team defend the title.On August 20, 2017, he made his debut for the first team in the championship match against Stal Kamensk, entering the left flank of the defense in the 7th minute instead of the injured Josip Pivarich.On October 25, 2018, he made his debut in the Europa League, entering the Dynamo starting lineup in an away match against the French Rennes at Roazon Park, which ended in a 1-2 victory for the Kiev team. In the 2018/19 season, he was recognized as the best young player of the Ukrainian championship.

On October 20, 2019, he scored his first goal in the Premier League in a home meeting with Oleksandriya, which became the only one in the match and brought the club a 1-0 victory. In the 2019/20 season, he played 36 matches for Dynamo in all competitions, scoring four goals, and also won the 2019/20 Ukrainian Cup.

At the beginning of the 2020/21 season, the Kyiv club faced a lot of injuries, so Mykolenko moved to play at the central defender position, in which he played at youth level.

September 19, 2020 in a home match against Lviv (3:1) for the first time brought Dynamo to the field with a captain's armband, becoming the second (after Viktor Tsyhankov) the youngest team captain in the matches of the Ukrainian championship.At that time, the player was 21 years and 113 days old. On March 14, 2021, he played his 100th match for Dynamo Kiev, having entered the starting lineup for the match with Zorya (2: 0); of which 65 matches in the championships of Ukraine, 26 - in European competitions, 8 - in the National Cup and one - in the Super Cup.The defender has scored five goals: 3 in the Ukrainian Premier League (all against Oleksandriya during the 2019/20 season) and 2 in European matches.

Mykolenko played for Dynamo Kyiv until the end of 2021 and in total played 132 matches for his native team in all tournaments, scoring seven goals.

The footballer signed a contract with the new club for the period up to 2026 and chose the 19th number.he amount of the deal was not officially announced. According to media reports, the transfer of the defender to the English club cost about 21-23 million euros.
