Village Capital

Village Capital is an accelerator that finds, trains and invests in entrepreneurs solving real-world problems. The firm conducts programs and provides mentorships to its client companies. It seeks to invest in companies operating in the agriculture, education, energy, financial services and health sectors. It was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia.

Village Capital uses peer support to provide access to entrepreneurship. They recruit entrepreneurs solving specific problems in agriculture, energy, education, financial inclusion, and health. They then put the power of investment in the hands of the entrepreneurs, who award pre-committed seed funding to the two ventures ranked highest by the entrepreneurs at the end of every program. Their programs connect high potential, early-stage entrepreneurs with the people, institutions, and capital to help them succeed.
