Tsinghua University is a public educational institute located in Beijing, China. It was founded on April 29, 1911 and is named after Tsinghua Garden. The university's motto is "Self-Discipline and Social Commitment". Tsinghua University is accredited by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, European Foundation for Management Development, Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, and Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The university is affiliated with the Association of Pacific Rim Universities.
