In an aspect, a method includes receiving data responsive to a selection of an action trigger prompt at a user device, wherein: the action trigger prompt is rendered at the user device with a resource and displayed with the resource in an initial state, and upon selection of the action trigger prompt the user device displays an action trigger menu that facilitates the input of a plurality of parameter values for an event; and the received data specifies a user defined event and an action associated with the user defined event and to be taken in response to the occurrence of the user defined event; and storing the data specifying the user defined event and the action to be take in response to the occurrence of the user defined event in an action trigger data store.
