Ted Fang is an Asia-based consultant and entrepreneur. He has worked in various sectors, including real estate, hospitality, and technology. He has spent much of his career working in Shanghai, Beijing, and Singapore.
Fang started his career with Apple Computer before moving to the gas and oil sector in 1992. He went on to cofound Frontier Hotel Group in 2003 with his two brothers. The group is best known for acquiring the mid-market hotel chain Days Inn in Greater China and growing it exponentially. In 2003, Fang cofounded Tera Capital, an investment holding firm with a focus on real estate and technology in Greater China and South East Asia.
In April 2021, Fang was declared bankrupt along with his businesses, citing negative financial impacts on the hospitality industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is reported that he is a consultant in Singapore as of 2021.
Prior to being declared bankrupt, Fang was listed as one of Singapore's Most Powerful and Influential People by Prestige Lifestyle Magazine for the years 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014.
