Sunrise is one of the largest non state-controlled telecommunications companies in Switzerland, offering mobile, Internet, TV, and landline services to private and business customers. The Sunrise brand was launched in 1997 and now offers a broad range of services in Switzerland, including the first prepaid flat rate on the Swiss market, the first mobile subscriptions in Switzerland without a mobile phone subsidy, and the first complete household flat rate in Switzerland. Sunrise was also the first Swiss provider to introduce 5G, April 2019.
Sunrise was acquired by Liberty Global in 2020. The CEO at Sunrise is Andre Krause and the Deputy CEO and COO (Chief Operating Officer) is Severina Pascu. As of 2020, there are around 1700 employees at the company. Sunrise includes the brands Yallo and Lebara. Sunrise has over three million customers. Some of the company large national and international customers include Nestlé, Zurich Insurance Group, Swiss Post, Zurich Airport, Swiss International Air Lines, McDonald's, and NISSAN.
