Steve Rubell (born December 2, 1943) was an American restaurateur and cofounder of Studio 54, a prominent nightclub in New York City. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and held citizenship in the United States. Rubell attended Syracuse University, where he received his education.
During its time, Studio 54 achieved notable recognition and attracted many interesting guests. It operated as a subsidiary under Rubell's guidance.
On July 25, 1989, Steve Rubell passed away at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York City.
