Service Robotics & Technologies (SRT) has developed the M1 Hardware Portal (TRL 8), a patent-pending, cloud-based software framework with standardized communication protocols, allowing connected hardware (robots, sensors, and other IoT/IIoT devices) from different manufacturers to operate in the same software ecosystem. This product was developed to address commercial market opportunities in the facility management and custodial services industries, creating a single platform for managing and automating a facility’s connected devices. Collecting key device data attributes in a single ecosystem provides comprehensive monitoring and management of all connected devices, as well as the evaluation of system behaviors across a fleet of devices. This software framework was developed to manage smart hardware for direct application to the custodial services sector, with expanded applications in building water management and air quality monitoring. The primary objective of this Phase II proposal is to expand the technical capabilities of SRT’s M1 Hardware Portal (M1) to address Navy-specific facility and machine health monitoring requirements. The demonstration of the software deployed across multiple areas of facilities will allow for data collection, alerts, and analysis of facility health over the period of performance, filtering up to a site-wide view of all facilities. This platform provides the baseline for machine learning and predictive analytics algorithms to provide warnings and insights to facility managers to prepare for required maintenance, meaning machine downtime can be scheduled so as to optimize workflow. SRT proposes to expand our initial scoping for the generic USMC MDMC paint booth shop (1) into a detailed Deployment Document for physical deployments across each of three MDMC paint booths; (2) to fully integrate the software on existing and approved additional hardware components; (3) to deploy our software system and integrated hardware into one of the MDMC paint booths; (4) to advance the M1 software platform and local system deployment to monitor this facility; (5) and to provide initial scoping for up to two additional MDMC shops (e.g., blast booths, shop cranes) and three new shops at up to two additional locations.
