Sara Spangelo

Sara graduated from the University of ManitobaUniversity of Manitoba in her hometown of WinnipegWinnipeg with a degree in mechanical engineering. She then studied and completed her MSE and PhD in Aerospace Engineering at the University of MichiganUniversity of Michigan with a thesis title of "Modeling and Optimizing Space Networks for Improved Communication Capacity".

In 2017 Sara participated in astronaut tryouts for the Canadian Space AgencyCanadian Space Agency and was among the top 32 candidates, but was eliminated before final selection.
