SafeGraph is a San Francisco-based company that creates technology which utilizes data to make predictions for businesses. The company uses truth sets for artificial intelligence.
The company has created a POI database through onboarding data and analyzing business building footprints with satellite imagery. It obtains information related to customers via their mobile devices using 17 trillion location markers and various mobile applications that partner with SafeGraph. Using algorithms, the software categorizes the businesses in order to produce data. Businesses that are included in the POIs include restaurants, major retail chains, shopping malls, convenience stores, airports, and more. The software can produce insights such as store visitor analytics and demographics.
SafeGraph has had three rounds of funding and has raised more than $16 million. Its latest round of funding in 2017 was a Series A round. Investors include FJ Labs, Ridge Ventures, Corazon Capital, Naval Ravikant, and Pete Thiel.
