Russian-American Company is a Saint Petersburg-based company founded in 1799 by Grigory Shelikhov.
The Russian-American Company (RAC) was a company founded on August 7, 1799, by Grigory Shelikhov and Nikolai Rezanov in Russia. The RAC had its headquarters in Saint Petersburg, and was involved in the fur trade industry. Alexander Andreyevich Baranov served as the company's CEO.
This organization also founded the Old Sitka Site, which eventually became a historic landmark. The Russian-American Company was based in Saint Petersburg, near the Moyka River. At the time of its operations, the country was known as the Russian Empire. The Russian-American Company is classified as both a company and an organization.
