The site contains information regarding the UK radiology application process, guidance for trainees taking the FRCR examinations and teaching resources for medical students. This includes in-depth information about the radiology application process including example interview questions, latest competition ratios, advice on improving CV's and portfolio and information on being a radiologist. For radiology trainees, the information includes revision notes, mock exams and up-to-date lists of all courses.
Radiology Cafe is structured to help students around Interview and application process, studying for exams, radiology registrars in training, junior doctors and medical students, links and information to relevant events and their blog.
Radiology Cafe was founded in 2011 using a WYSIWYG editor, but since 2014 runs on Joomla!, a free and open-source content management system (CMS). There are various editors, article and blog contributors.
In February 2017, 16 mock FRCR anatomy examinations were uploaded, with a further two uploaded in 2018. In April 2017, all of the articles from FRCR Physics notes (a Google Site) were transferred to Radiology Cafe. In October 2017 the iBook, Radiology Basics: Cross-sectional Imaging, was reproduced on Radiology Cafe as an interactive webpage.
