Quercegen Pharmaceuticals researches, develops, manufactures and markets proprietary plant-derived pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products. Quercegen Pharmaceuticals was founded in 2009. Quercegen Pharma LLC’s patent porfolio was transferred to Quercegen Pharmaceuticals.
Quercegen Pharma was based in Oberwil-Lieli, Switzerland. The company is focused on quercetin-based products and other flavonoids and naturally sourced small molecules. Quercegen Pharmaeuticals is affiliated with Quercegen Agronegocios which operates a 3,600 hectare farm in northern Brazil for production of Quercetin. The affiliate processes plant materials into crude Rutin and Quercetin which are purified in Sao Luiz. Purified products are shipped around the world for incorporation into pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements and foodstuffs.
Quercegen’s first branded product was Q-Force, which was a collaboration with the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and Nutravail Technologies. Q-Force are soft chews sold to military personnel since 2007 and available to the general public since 2011. In a randomized placebo-controlled study, quercetin helped prevent viral illness such as cold and flu after physical exertion. Quercetin is commercialized as RealFX Q-Plus soft chews.
