Nikolay Bogolyubov (1909-1992) was a mathematician, physicist, politician, and inventor from the Soviet Union and Russia. He was born in Nizhny Novgorod and died in Moscow. Bogolyubov was educated at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

Throughout his lifetime, Bogolyubov made notable contributions to various fields. Some of his most prominent works are the BBGKY hierarchy, the Krylov–Bogoliubov averaging method, and the Krylov–Bogolyubov theorem. He was awarded the Lenin Prize for his achievements.

Nikolay Bogolyubov advised numerous doctoral students during his career, some of whom include Anatoly Logunov, Boris Struminsky, Albert Tavkhelidze, Dmitry Zubarev, Dmitry Shirkov, Yurii Mitropolskiy, Sergei Tyablikov, and Vasily Vladimirov. His own doctoral advisor was Nikolay Mitrofanovich Krylov. Bogolyubov also had a child named Nikolay Bogolyubov.
