Nafsika Antypas (born February 25, 1977), is a Greek-Canadian TV host, writer, and producer. She is the creator and host of the first television vegan lifestyle series Plant-Based by Nafsika.
She is the founder of the non-profit organization People Against Violence and vegan food brand, Nafsika’s Garden.
Antypas was born on February 25, 1977, in Montreal, Canada. She completed high school at Royal West Academy High School, in 1994. In 2000, she received a bachelor of arts degree from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada.
Antypas started her career as a marketing director upon graduation at Pilaros International Trading Inc., her father's Mediterranean food importing company in Canada, the USA, and Australia.
In 2014, she founded a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization People Against Violence Org, which offers phone counseling and other services to victims of violent crimes. In the same year, she designed and launched uAlert Personal Safety, a mobile app that serves as an emergency response system for the victims of violence.
Antypas then founded her company Nafsika Inc. She created and hosted the world’s first vegan lifestyle TV series, Plant-Based by Nafsika, in 2015, which focuses on a plant-based diet and vegan living. The series was aired in the following year on the A&E Network and has three seasons as of 2021.
In 2015, she founded another organization, The Struggling Vegan Inc. She then became a certified health and lifestyle coach in 2017, and developed an online course, and wrote the book, Make The Plant-Based Switch. With these, she helps people switch to a plant-based lifestyle by providing recipes, tips, and news about vegan living.
Antypas launched a line of vegan cheeses under her brand, Nafsika’s Garden, in 2018. The brand was initially launched in the US and, as of 2021, the brand is available in eight countries.
She has appeared on several TV and radio shows and has been interviewed by online publications, including PETA, VegNews, EmpowHER, Health Digest, and Insider.
Antypas ranked on the 63rd position of Top 100 Most Influential Vegans of 2017 by Plant Based News and appeared in the 2020 Top 100 Canadian Professionals Magazine. In 2021, she received the Top 100 F&B Leaders Award for her contributions to the food and beverage industry.
