Who is Michele Morrone?
Michele Morrone is an Italian actor, singer, and guitarist, best known for his role in the 2020 Netflix movie 365 Days. He was trained in acting at the Teatro Fraschini di Pavia. Morrone began his career with theater and then appeared in a few short films, before making his screen debut with the web series Second Chance in 2011. He was then seen in numerous Italian series. His success soared after his appearance in the movie 365 Days. He has released an album, owns a clothing brand, and also endorses numerous brands.
Childhood & Early Life
Michele Morrone was born on October 3, 1990, in Bitonto, Italy. He grew up as the only son and the youngest child in the family. He has three older sisters.
Morrone’s father, Natale, was a construction worker, while Morrone’s mother, Angela, was a seamstress.
The family moved to Melegnano, near Milan, when the children were quite young, in order to find better jobs. Natale died in 2002, when Morrone was 12. Morrone also spent a part of his childhood in Apulia, southern Italy.
Morrone had resolved to become an actor after watching a Harry Potter movie at the tender age of 11. He participated in an after-school acting program in middle school.
Morrone failed his first year at high school due to bad behavior. He then joined professional acting classes at Teatro Fraschini di Pavia, a theater in Pavia.
Career: His Rise as an Actor and a Singer
Michele Morrone began his career with minor theater roles. Soon, he was playing lead roles in plays. He also began auditioning for movies.
In 2011, he made his full-fledged screen debut with the role of Riccardo in the Piergiorgio Seidita-directed three-episode web series Second Chance. The series was canceled after the first season.
In 2012, he was seen in a music video of the Italian girl band Makay. He soon began playing lead roles in short films. He was seen in Il Tempo di una Sigaretta and E la Vita Continua.
Morrone then appeared in a drama show called Che Dio ci Aiuti. Some of his most popular Italian TV series were Come un Delfino (2011), Provaci Ancora (2015), Squadra Antimafia (2015), Sirene (2016), Renata Fonte (2017), Il Processo (known as The Trial on Netflix, 2018), and Medici (2018).
In 2016 Morrone participated in the 11th season of Ballando con le Stelle, the Italian version of the dance variety show Dancing with the Stars. He ranked second on the show.
In 2019, Morrone played Luigi, a lead role in Bar Giuseppe. However, the role that made him a household name was that of mafia boss Massimo Torricelli in the Polish erotic drama film 365 Days (365 Dni), based on the first novel of a trilogy by author Blanka Lipińska.
On February 7, 2020, the movie was released in theaters in Poland. It was released on Netflix on June 7, 2020.
The success of the movie earned Morrone a 3-year contract with the production house. The movie will thus have two sequels, which will complete the trilogy.
Apart from being a fine actor, Morrone is also professional guitarist and singer. He learned to play the guitar by watching YouTube videos at 25.
On February 14, 2020, he released an album named Dark Room, which includes many songs from the official soundtrack of 365 Days. One of his most popular songs is Feel It.
The album, produced by the label AGORA S.A., contains 10 songs, including Hard for Me, Do It Like That, Watch Me Burn, and Rain in The Heart.
Morrone is represented by the agencies Take Off Artist Management (for movie projects), New Change S.R.L. (for music), and Wannabe Management (for digital media). He has endorsed brands such as Falconeri and Dolce & Gabbana.
On August 2, 2020, he launched an Italian women’s beachwear brand named AurumRoma. On August 8 that year, Morrone confirmed the launch through an Instagram live.
Soon after the announcement, the brand’s website crashed because of heavy traffic. Morrone creates his own clothing designs, collaborating with designer Chiara Pollano. The brand is owned by Morrone and managed by Spazio Arcó.
Michele Morrone is also planning to launch his own perfume. It will be named Feel It and should be available in stores by October 3, 2020.
