MetaBase is a software company offering an open-source analytics and data visualization platform that is headquartered in San Francisco, California and was founded in 2014 by Sameer Al-Sakran. The MetaBase platform allows users to embed their own applications, add dashboards, add charts, audit when and who accessed data, add their own white-label, customize the MetaBase color pallet, connect with SMAL-based SSO, and allows the sandboxing of data.

On February 8, 2019 MetaBase announced raising $13 million in venture funding from New Enterprise Associates (lead investor) and a dozen other investors who remain undisclosed.
On April 23, 2019 MetaBase announced raising $8 million in series A funding from New Enterprise Associates. At the time of announcing their series A round MetaBase also announced Julia Schottenstein from New Enterprise Associates will be joining the company's board of directors. The company plans on using their series A funding round to hire more employees, offer more customer support, and to improve their software product.
