George Frampton, Meredith's father, was a prominent British sculptor, and his mother, Christabel Cockerell, was an artist as well. Throughout his career, Meredith Frampton focused mainly on painting portraits, often depicting his subjects in a highly detailed, almost photographic manner. He passed away in London on September 16, 1984.
