As of June 2021, the network includes twenty hypermarkets in seven regions: St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Samara, Yekaterinburg and Ufa. In 2019, the first hypermarket was opened in Moscow, next to the Mega Belaya Dacha shopping center, on the site of the former Nidan plant. The company also has plans to further develop the network's stores in the Moscow region.
The total retail space of the network is more than 179.1 thousand m², the average sales area of one hypermarket is 9.4 thousand m².

Company development history

The first Maksidom was opened on October 6, 1997 in St. Petersburg, on Grazhdansky Prospekt, 18A. This building was built in 1984 (architect E. V. Karpin). Initially, it housed the laboratory building of the All-Union Institute of Hydraulic Engineering named after B. E. Vedeneev, which was engaged in research on the effects of a complex of protective structures on the water regime of the Neva Bay: its large-scale model and a pool were located in the building.
In the 1990s, all equipment was dismantled and the building was used as a warehouse, and in 1997 it was sold and rebuilt under "Maxidom"
The development of the company was active: every two years, one hypermarket was opened in St. Petersburg, and since 2006 they have appeared annually. As a result, by 2008, seven Maksidom stores were successfully operating in St. Petersburg.
Regional expansion began in 2008 with the opening of a hypermarket in Nizhny Novgorod, and two years later a store was opened in Kazan. 2015 was marked by the appearance of two stores at once - in Yekaterinburg and Samara. At the same time, the company built a multifunctional shopping and entertainment complex (TRK) in the Urals, where, in addition to Maksidom, a grocery store and a rental area will be located.
In 2016-2017, the company opened two new stores in St. Petersburg, one of which is small. In addition, a new hypermarket was opened in Ufa in 2017.
At the beginning of 2019, the opening of the first hypermarket in Moscow took place.
In October 2020, Maksidom bought the Castorama hypermarket chain in Russia for 7.4 billion rubles.
