Leo Widrich

Leo Widrich is a coach and co-founder of Buffer. He was born in Austria and lived there until he pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Warwick Business School. After spending two years at the school, he left to start working together with Joel Gascoigne, where they founded Buffer in 2010 shortly afterwards. Widrich moved to San Francisco, where Buffer is still headquartered as of 2019.

In 2017, Leo Widrich left his Chief Operating Officer position at Buffer and spent nearly two years in a Buddhist monastery in Orange County, New York called Blue Cliff Monastery. From his experiences during his stay in the monastery, Widrich decided to become a one-on-one coach. Since 2018, he has been working together with his clients using approaches such as somatic experiencing and non-violent communication. His clients have mostly been founders and CEOs of startups. As of 2019, he still lives within the same area as the monastery.
