Ken Watanabe (Japanese: わたなべ けん) was born on October 21, 1959 in Uonuma, Japan. He is a Japanese citizen and has two children, Anne Watanabe and Dai Watanabe. Ken Watanabe is the father of actress and model Anne Watanabe.
Watanabe's occupation is listed as a janitor. However, he is more notably known for his acting work in several films, including The Last Samurai, Tampopo, The Sea and Poison, and Memoirs of a Geisha (2005). To English-speaking audiences, Ken Watanabe is recognized for portraying tragic hero characters, such as General Tadamichi Kuribayashi in Letters from Iwo Jima and Lord Katsumoto Moritsugu in The Last Samurai.
