Joey Krug is a Puerto Rico-based investor and entrepreneur. He studied computer science at Pomona College before moving on to start his career pathway. Krug is a Thiel Fellow, an Edmund Hillary Fellow, and a member of the Founders Pledge.
Krug dropped out of his bachelor's program at Ponoma College in 2014 to pursue entrepreneurship, and he founded MariPoS, a Bitcoin point of sale (POS) solution, the same year. Krug also cofounded Forecast Foundation, a non-profit organization for developers; Eco, a financial technology company; and Augur, a decentralized exchange betting platform. In June 2017, Krug became the co-chief investment officer (CIO) of Pantera Capital. He also acts as an angel investor and has invested in companies such as Bolt, Zerion, Alchemy, and dNovo Bio.
In a 2022 interview with Daniel Scrivner, Krug stated
When you're investing and you have a position that you think you have conviction in, where you think it's very high odds that you're right, take a big swing at it.
In addition to being an entrepreneur, Krug acts as an advisor to several companies, including Numerai, Tlon, 0x, OpenToken, Ampleforth, and Origin Protocol.
Krug has also been a board member of multiple companies, including Ether Capital and Augment Partners.
