Jan Stanislavsky (Polish Jan Stanisławski; June 24, 1860, Olshana, Ukraine, Russian Empire - January 6, 1907, Krakow, Austria-Hungary) was a Polish artist.
Jan Stanislavsky studied at the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Warsaw and in St. Petersburg. He studied painting in the class of Wojciech Gerson in Warsaw, then at the Krakow Academy of Arts (1883-1885) with Vladislav Lushkevich and in Paris (1885-1888) under the guidance of the artist Carolus-Duran. Until 1895 he worked in Paris. He was influenced by the work of Claude Monet.
Since 1897 he was a professor at theKrakow Academy of Arts . Along with teaching at the Academy, J. Stanislavsky was one of the founders and active participants in the Art Association of Polish Artists. He actively contributed to the training of Ukrainian impressionist artists (in particular, Alexander Murashko, Mykola Burachek, etc.), having a sentiment for his small homeland - the Kiev region.
