Jada Koren Pinkett Smith is an American actress, singer-songwriter, and businesswoman. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Robsol Grant Pinkett, Jr., a contractor of African-American descent, and Adrienne Banfield-Jones, a nurse, of Afro-Caribbean ancestry (from Barbados and Jamaica).
Jada Pinkett-Smith is married to an actor, Will Smith. They have a son, Jaden Smith, and a daughter, Willow Smith. Jada is the host of the Red Table Talk on Facebook Watch, alongside Willow and her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, also known as Gammy.
Jada studied dance and choreography at the Baltimore School for the Arts, where one of her classmates was Tupac Shakur. She dropped out of the North Carolina School of the Arts after a year to pursue her career in acting. In 1991, she was cast in the part of a college frosh on the television sitcom A Different World (1987). She then made her feature film debut two years later in Menace II Society (1993).
In 2023, Jada published a memoir called Worthy, in which she reveals that she and her husband, Will Smith, though they were never divorced, have been separated for seven years.
