Jackson Square Ventures (JSV) is a San Francisco-based venture capital firm that focuses on series A financing rounds for start-up companies. Industries in which the firm invest include software as a service and marketplace. The firm's team is made up of former start-up founders with experience in the technology industry, thus allowing for them to take an active role in advising companies in which they invest. The company states that it invests based on its own logic and intends to stay with its investments for the long-term.
As of 2019, JSV has had three funds: the Sigma West fund in 2011, the Jackson Square Ventures 2 fund in 2015, and the Jackson Square Ventures 3 fund in 2019. The latest fund raised $150 million, bringing the total for all three funds to $274 million.
Companies in which JSV has invested include Upwork, OfferUp, rented, and Waterline Data. JSV has also worked with start-ups that eventually turned into billion dollar companies, such as DocuSign, Equallogic, and Responsys.
