Ivan Vinogradov

Ivan Vinogradov (1891-1983) was a mathematician, professor, and three-time citizen, born in the Russian Empire, became a citizen of the Soviet Union, and finally a citizen of Russia. He was educated at Saint Petersburg State University and pursued a distinguished career guided by his doctoral advisor, Andrey Markov.

Ivan Vinogradov is best known for his notable works on Goldbach's weak conjecture and Vinogradov's theorem. In recognition of his contributions to the field of mathematics, he was awarded the prestigious Lomonosov Gold Medal.

After a successful career, he passed away in Moscow in 1983.
