American jazz flautist
Herbie Mann, born Herbert Jay Solomon on April 16, 1930, was an American musician, saxophonist, and composer. He was a native of New York City and held a nationality of the United States. Mann passed away on July 1, 2003, in Pecos, New Mexico.
Mann attended Manhattan School of Music and Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn. As a musician, his work spanned multiple genres, including disco, jazz, world music, jazz fusion, bossa nova, and acid jazz. Throughout his career, Mann was an influential figure within the music industry.
