Grabit is a developer of an industrial material-handling technology designed to automate manufacturing and warehouse logistics. The company's technology virtually handles all types of material, meshes, films, fibers, and products eliminating the use of conventional vacuum technology or mechanical grippers.
Grabit originally licensed their core technology and were spun out of SRI International. They have raised investments from Nike, Draper, Nexus Ventures, and Flex Lab IX.
Grabit's robotic technology uses electroadhesion, or static electricity, to handle almost all materials, including objects as fragile as eggs, or soft fabrics, or unwieldy and heavy objects. The other part of Grabit's technology is machine learning, which allows their Stackit robotics to layer textiles on each other, including leathers, meshes, and composite fibers, and are capable of increasing the manufacturing capabilities of companies. Their Meterit and Conveyit robots are capable of handling those difficult objects, and can be deployed in factories and fulfillment centers.
