Bell labs researcher; one of the fathers of the modern first digital computer
George Stibitz (born April 20, 1904, in York, Pennsylvania) was a physicist, computer scientist, and mathematician who held citizenship in the United States. He passed away on January 31, 1995, also in York, Pennsylvania.
Stibitz was educated at Cornell University, Union College, and Denison University. He was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 1983.
