Russian writer, thinker, philosopher and publicist. Corresponding member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences since 1877. A classic of world literature, according to UNESCO, one of the most widely read writers in the world. Dostoevsky's collected works consist of 12 novels, four short stories, 16 short stories and many other works.

The writer's early works, as well as the novel "Notes from the Dead House", contributed to the emergence of the genre of psychological prose.

After his death, Dostoevsky was recognized as a classic of Russian literature and one of the best novelists of world significance, considered the first representative of personalism in Russia. The work of the Russian writer had an impact on world literature, in particular on the work of a number of Nobel Prize laureates in literature, philosophers Friedrich Nietzsche and Jean-Paul Sartre, as well as on the formation of various psychological teachings and existentialism, his 1864 novella "Notes from the Underground" is considered one of the first works of existentialist literature.

The most significant works of the writer include the novels of the Great Pentateuch. Many famous works of Dostoevsky have been repeatedly filmed and staged in the theater, ballet and opera productions have been staged.
