By the Decree of the Central Committee of the CPSU and the Council of Ministers of the USSR No. 609 of August 06, 1976, a decision was made to build a Forging Plant for Heavy Forgings in the city of Zhodino. This was due to the urgent need of automotive industry enterprises for large-sized and heavy forgings, as well as the organization of the production of BelAZ mining dump trucks with an especially large payload.
The protocol of the USSR Ministry of Automotive Industry No. 18 dated April 15, 1977 approved the design of the plant. In the same year, construction and installation trust No. 21 (Borisov) began construction work.
Matusevich Roman Nikolaevich was appointed the first director of the plant under construction. At the end of 1981, the installation of equipment from HOISLER and BANNING (Germany) was completed and a workshop for the production of wheel rims for BelAZ mining dump trucks was put into operation. Since 1982, the Forging Plant of Heavy Forgings has started mass production.
The following years were a period of constant dynamic development of the enterprise: modern factory buildings were built, new capacities for the production of forgings and stampings weighing up to 200 kg were introduced, other types of products were mastered, housing and social facilities were actively built.
In 1993, a mechanized complex for the production of spars based on a four-crank press K4548 with a force of 63,000 kN was put into operation, which allowed the Minsk Automobile Plant to significantly increase the production of cars of various modifications.
In December of the same year, the construction of RBU began, which later became the basis of its own construction base, which carries out repair and construction work and builds housing for the plant's employees, produces mortar and concrete mixes for construction companies and individuals.
In order to improve the manufacturing technology of the rear axle housing of MAZ family vehicles, increase their range and improve quality, in 2006 the enterprise introduced a THOMPSON 125 DE friction welding machine (Great Britain) and a number of special equipment for mechanical processing.
In April 2008, for the manufacture of frame spars, new lines were introduced: SOENEN for punching and STENHOJ for drop formation.
Work is constantly being carried out to modernize and update machine tools for tool production.
In January 2009, RUE "KZTSh" was reorganized by transformation into an open joint stock company (JSC "Forging Plant of Heavy Forgings").
The enterprise is the main supplier of blanks, assemblies and parts for shaft-forming plants of the machine-building complex of the Republic of Belarus, including: OJSC MAZ, RUPP BelAZ, UE MZKT, OJSC MMZ, MTZ, OJSC Amkodor, Belarusian Railway and others. Consumers of our products are also companies in Russia, Ukraine, Germany: JSC "Tverskoy excavator"; JSC "Bryansk Plant of Wheeled Tractors"; JSC "Kanashsky AAZ"; Onyx LLC, St. Petersburg; Promsnab LLC, Smolensk; JSC HC "AvtoKrAZ"; JSC "Mironovsky AAZ"; "Euroflanch GmbH"; "Eugen Klein GmbH" and others
In cooperation with the Institute of Agricultural Mechanization under the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, the plant on a permanent basis masters the manufacture of spare parts for tillage equipment, which are in stable demand among enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Belarus
