Erich Wolfgang Korngold (1897-1957) was an Austrian-American composer and pianist. Born in Brno on May 29, 1897, he later became a citizen of both Austria and the United States. Korngold was educated at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and was known for composing in the genre of opera. He passed away in Hollywood on November 29, 1957.
