Mineola-based Empire Bio Diagnostics received $500,000 in New York State funds to help make supplies needed to combat the coronavirus pandemic. Empire Bio Diagnostics Corp was one of a dozen companies in the state that received a total of $6.9 million in incentives in July 2020 to produce coronavirus-related equipment and supplies to support the states needs.
The company makes Viral Transport Medium Kits needed for COVID-19 testing sample collection, preservation and transportation. The company says will invest more than $2 million in equipment to increase production of the kits.
